Our hearts are heavy

We’ve lost our freest bird

Yet, the best of you remains

Your wisdom and your words

They shall ever be

Our hearts are heavy

Like summer's fruit on the trees

Bending us, testing our limits

But we've the strength you leave

You watch us now

Our hearts are heavy

But, this you know

An old soul amongst us

She helped us all grow

It was time to go home

Our hearts are heavy

Though you're back in the Light

Returned to our roots

At the tree of life

Reunited with those you've known

Our hearts are heavy

But this will surely pass

When the sorrow gives way

And we can hear children laugh

We cannot be grateful enough
